Back up a few months. This is the child who would tell me from the backseat while we are on the highway, "Oh this is not good. I'm about to throw up." John and I seriously almost pulled over a few times thinking Ella had some sort of new car-sickness issue. We would panic and ask, "Are you for real about to throw-up or are you just pretending?" She would think the question over and respond, "For real!" We frantically searched for the closest exit until we heard her go back to singing along with the radio. Ummm, okaaaay? Different versions of this scenario happened every couple of days.
I am embarrassed to say that it took us a few weeks to figure out what was going on. By coincidence, I was also sick every day during those months due to beloved early pregnancy symptoms. It seems that our little barnacle picked up on the fact that I was getting a little extra attention for it. We realized what was going on the day we were pulling out of our garage and heard, "I need to eat something now. I feel nauseous." It was too tempting not to ask if she knew what the word nauseous meant. Ella replied, "It means that my tummy needs to eat right now."

oh my word. that is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThat is insanely funny! What a ham! We have had those same conversations, "Eva, are you for real about to _____ or are you pretending?" We had to explain that it's not a joke if you don't ever tell mommy and daddy that you're joking. :)
ReplyDeletelove this post! What a cutie... At least she did not stick her baby in the freezer after she "delievered" it... like my sister did. (ask me if you haven't heard that story... I would love to share)
